CINDE Member Webinar Series - Robotic NDT Solutions

CINDE Member Webinar Series

We welcome all members and non-members to participate in our new series of webinars designed to provide you with knowledge in a variety of areas related to NDT.

Date: November 3, 2020
Time: 11:00am EST
Topic: Robotic NDT Solutions
Presenter: Christophe Bordeleau, Product Manager, Inuktun Product Line

Abstract:
This presentation highlights how inspection robotics are being used for a range of non-destructive testing (NDT) operations. Eddyfi Technologies presents its remotely operated crawler systems built on an IM3™, or Inuktun Multi-Mission Modular, platform that enables the integration of complementary NDT modalities for assessments in areas where humans can’t or shouldn’t directly access.

The synergistic product offering by Eddyfi Technologies leverages the most advanced inspection technologies with robust robotic platforms to safeguard humans and the environment, also helping provide cost and production efficiencies to asset owners and operators across a range of industries.

We take a closer look at the Inuktun MaggHD™, a miniature magnetic crawler used for remote visual inspection (RVI) in lieu of hazardous confined space entry (CSE) or working at heights. Mini but mighty, this inspection crawler reduces or eliminates the need for scaffolding and/or rope access for examination of otherwise unreachable areas of assets. We share a real-world example of the MaggHD for tank and vessel inspection with a live product demonstration immediately after.

Understanding the growing need to collect more data to empower more informed maintenance decisions, we present a range of integrated technologies for complete assessments with the MaggHD. This includes Tangential Eddy Current Array (TECA™), Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC), and Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM®), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT). We break down the advantages and applications with examples for each technique. Beyond IM3™ technology, we share our Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and Total Focusing Method (TFM) robotic scanner solutions.

By the end of this webinar, featuring a live Q&A session with Eddyfi Technologies own NDT expert, you should have a clear understanding of the benefits offered by robotic deployment of NDT sensors, probes and tooling for safer and more efficient inspections.

CINDE Member Webinar Series - The Art of Realistic Flawed Specimens - beyond notches and side drilled holes

CINDE Member Webinar Series

We welcome all members and non-members to participate in our new series of webinars designed to provide you with knowledge in a variety of areas related to NDT.

Date: November 17, 2020
Time: 12:00pm EST
Topic: The Art of Realistic Flawed Specimens – beyond notches and side drilled holes
Presenter: Ricky Morgan (FlawTech)

Abstract:
The concept of making flawed specimens seems simple at first thought. Anyone can make a bad weld or product. This is true in concept but making a flawed specimen with accurate dimensions with no distractors other than the intended flaws to gauge an NDT Technicians’ or the CWIs’ performance or ability to properly locate, size and dispatch said specimen to a specific code, procedure or industry standard is another thing all together.

For many years I have heard from inspectors how they fear taking practical exams and how hard it is to get practical experience. In this day and age, we are still experiencing only 50% passing rate on some of the standardized Industry Performance Demonstration Exams. Why is that?

I believe it is most likely linked to lack of adequate preparation. Just because you do it day in and day out doesn’t mean you don’t need a refresher prior to taking an exam.

I will discuss the advantages of having and using realistic flawed specimens to both train on and test with for a variety of industry sectors.

Attending the webinar: A confirmation email will be sent on Thursday, November 12, 2020 with login information for the webinar.

Cost: Non-member: $10
Member: $0
