NDT Lab Teaching Assistant/Intern

The Canadian Institute for Non-destructive Evaluation (CINDE) is seeking a candidate for a fulltime, temporary opportunity to work, earn and learn with the national leader in NDT Training. The primary purpose of the role is to provide assistance to the CINDE instructors teaching courses for the Mohawk Quality Engineering Technician program and other industry training. This includes:

• Help setup and run labs or other CINDE training courses or workshops
• Maintain physical organization and cleanliness of CINDE NDT lab spaces and equipment
• Assist with individual student learning activities, such as lab assignments and remediation as assigned
• Assist with research projects
• Other duties as necessary or assigned

The goal of this opportunity is to have an NDT recent graduate work under the supervision of CINDE staff who are CGSB certified NDT professionals to obtain their necessary on the job experience to help meet their certification requirements. Required Qualifications:

• Must have successfully completed CGSB recognized courses in PT2, MT2, UT2, ET1, RT1, Engineering, Materials and Components, Radiation Safety and CEDO Preparation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills required.
• Job functions require sitting, standing, and walking during shift. You will also be required to lift and move lab equipment and test pieces up to 20 kg and wear personal protective equipment while in the lab.
• Professional presence to represent CINDE and the College to the public required.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to give constructive criticism of student performance as necessary and to model positive professional behaviours.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
