W.E. Havercroft Award

Established in 1977, this award is named after William E. Havercroft who was widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of NDT in Canada. It is given to a member of CINDE who has made outstanding contribution towards NDT in Canada. Contributions may be in any area including technical, educational or managerial capacities. Recipients will receive a life-time membership with CINDE.

Technical Achievement Award

Established in 1983, this award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding technical contribution to NDT in Canada. Recipients are selected on the merit of their technical achievement and the resulting paper as published in a recognized technical journal. Recipients will receive a one (1) year membership (or extension if an active member) with CINDE.

This award is provided to a student who presented a poster at the NDT in Canada Conference series. Each student poster presentation is evaluated in a number of areas by members of the Conference Organizing Committee. The winner is announced at the Conference Banquet and Awards Dinner.

NDT Innovation Award

This award is provided to an organization that has provided a novel technique/product that has improved the way that NDT and inspection is performed in Canada. The award winner must be a Corporate/Small Business member of CINDE and must have operations located within Canada.

Award Nomination Procedure

Awards are given out at the Annual General Meeting. Anyone can submit an award nomination for someone who they feel is a deserving individual per the award criteria. If upon review of the Awards Committee it is decided that nominees are insufficiently qualified, then no award will be conferred.

Bursaries

CINDE Alison Smit Bursary - Mohawk College

Through the diligent efforts of Alison Smit, a partnership between CINDE and Mohawk College resulted in the Mohawk College Quality Engineering Technician - Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) full-time day program being launched in 2006.  Alison Smit was the key driver who developed the program, a Past Chair of the CINDE Ontario Chapter, an alumni of Mohawk College and the Training Coordinator for CINDE from 2001 until 2005.

This award is presented annually to a student entering the 2nd year of the program, who has been an Ontario resident for a minimum of 12 months and meets the requirements of financial need and academic performance. Students may apply for a CINDE Bursary by obtaining application information from the Mohawk Awards office by clicking here.
