Position Summary:
CGSB Level 2 X-ray and Radiation Safety Officer Certification for the plant
Serve as the expert in Non-Destructive and Destructive testing techniques for x-ray

Essential Functions:
•Responsible for understanding, communicating, auditing and ensuring compliance with all site, corporate, regulatory and procedural environmental, safety, security, health, quality and human resources standards
•Radiation safety officer for the plant
•Develop destructive and non-destructive techniques for x-ray
•Shoot and rate defects in aluminum castings
•Working knowledge of digital and film x-ray equipment
•Ability to develop x-ray techniques using digital and or film
•Supervisor for destructive and non-destructive testing in the plant
•Train area employees on testing techniques
•Quality system responsibilities for X-Ray & NDT in the plant (ISO17025, 14001 and IATF)
•Responsible for all area equipment calibration and maintenance
•Electronic data management and communication of results to the customer and outside authorities

INSPECTOR LEVEL B

To perform all tasks of an Inspector Level B and to conduct non-destructive examinations.

Tasks:
• Perform NDE in all areas of the Shop.
• Read and interpret documentation, including drawings and operating procedures.
• Create inspection reports, maintain and file documentation.
• Demonstrate good workmanship and practices.
• Communicate effectively with internal team members (i.e. peers, production leadership, project management, engineering) as well as customer representatives.
• Work in a safe manner, complying with all health, safety and environmental guidelines/regulations.
• Understand and adhere to quality requirements and productivity expectations.

Qualifications:

• Must posses either UT Level 2 OR RT Level 2 PLUS 1 of the following 10:
• CEDO or
• PT Level 2 or
• MT Level 2 or
• UT level 1 or
• RT level 1 or
• UT level 2 or
• RT level 2 or
• 5 years fabrication/machining inspector experience or
• Certified Welding Inspector or
• 5 years fitting/welding experience

OR, INSTEAD OF THE ABOVE:
Must possess 3 of the 10 listed above, one of which MUST be either MT Level 2 or PT Level 2.

Hourly Rate: $39.00

This Company is a growing Edmonton-based Engineering and Inspection firm that requires a Phased Array Ultrasonic Technician with experience conducting automated and semi-automated PAUT scanning and TOFD.

Reporting directly to the Inspection Manager, some of the job responsibilities include:

-Shop inspection for new fabrication of pressure vessels, piping, etc.
-Working at various field sites throughout Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan.
-Creation of technical reports.
-Assisting the NDE Manager with the company's training programs to develop potential PAUT/TOFD technicians.

We are looking for a hardworking individual with a positive attitude. An ability to effectively work as part of a team is essential. They should be flexible to work within city limits and remote locations if required for long-term projects. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The applicant must have current CGSB UT Level 2 certification and experience in conducting Hydroform scanning. PCN PAUT or CSWIP PAUT certification is beneficial.

Ideally we would like to see a Level 2 RT handle this, however, we would accept a CEDO with extensive experience to assume this responsibility.
