RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Determines test equipment settings according to type of metal, thickness, distance from test equipment, and related variables, using standard formulas;

· Reviews test orders to determine type of test requested, test procedures to follow, and part acceptability criteria;

· Sets up equipment to perform tests, and conducts tests on parts, following procedures established for specified tests performed;

· Write detailed technical reports and procedures relating to supplier documentation and maintain internal procedures and processes for NDT

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

· Minimum of 3 years aviation NDT experience

· CGSB or ASNT accreditation to NAS410 in Ultrasonic (Level 2 preferred, thickness minimum) and Eddy Current Level 2

This Company is looking to hire a new graduate NDE Technician; this position is for a regular full time Technician/Technologist.

Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):
•Work under the Candu Energy QA and Project QA programs in compliance with CSA N286.
•Support certified NDE inspections/inspectors as per established procedures at Sheridan Park as well as customer sites
•Execute field services project work as required including overseas assignments and perform hands-on work in radiation environments
•Effectively and efficiently communicate with team members with good interpersonal skills for the work team and inter-disciplines.

Qualifications (include, but not limited to):
•Graduation from a recognized college NDE diploma program
•Detailed theory and practical understanding of the following NDE techniques: UT, ET, RT, MT, PT and VT
•Training certificates in UT1, ET1 and RT1 (at a minimum)
•Display excellent hands-on mechanical and/or electrical skills
•Exhibit excellent and effective communication skills in both oral and written forms.
•Past experience with typical Candu customers’ Human Performance principals and tools would be an asset.
