| Job Description/Requirements: This company is seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Whitehorse, Yukon. Established in 1991, this company is a structural steel engineering, fabrication, and erection company serving commercial, industrial, bridge, and infrastructure projects throughout Yukon and Western Canada. We are CWB certified to CSA W47.1 Division 1 and hold engineering permits to practice. The QA Manager will oversee our QA/QC program while remaining hands-on with shop and field inspection. Responsibilities include VT and MT inspection, weld and fit-up inspection, ITPs, NCRs, material traceability, inspection reports, welder qualifications, CWB requirements, and coordination with our engineering, project management, fabrication, and third-party NDT teams. Minimum requirements are CSA W178.2 VT Level 2 and CGSB MT Level 2. Structural steel fabrication experience are considered strong assets. | Job Description/Requirements: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform NDT inspections in assigned methods (MT & PT) in accordance with NAS 410 and company written practice. Set up, standardize, and calibrate NDT equipment prior to inspection. Interpret and evaluate inspection results against applicable acceptance criteria. Identify and segregate nonconforming material and notify appropriate personnel. Maintain inspection records and calibration verification logs. Perform system performance checks and verify continued process control in accordance with applicable process standards and specifications. Provide technical guidance, oversight, and on-the-job training to Level I personnel and trainees within the scope of certified methods as directed by Level III. Review and ensure compliance with applicable customer codes, specifications, standards, and contractual quality requirements governing the NDT method. Develop detailed work instructions and technique sheets derived from approved general procedures, ensuring submission for final approval by the certified Level III. | Job Description/Requirements: • Examines parts under fluorescent or black lighting to detect surface defects using one of two methods: FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) or (MAG) Magnetic Particle Inspection • Reviewing and assimilating work instructions relating to cleaning, etching, dwell/develop operations, inspection criteria, and record results • Provide detailed information concerning processing techniques, findings, evaluation of indications, and part condition/disposition recommendations • Set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests using equipment and interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results • Create FPI and MPI Part specific techniques • Perform receiving inspections (before processing) as needed and immediately report any damage or discrepancy • Cleaning and etching of production parts in preparation for inspections • Application and removal of Fluorescent Penetrant Dye, dwell and develop processing in preparation for black light and white light inspections • Assist with (and perform as required) in internal and external system audits such as NADCAP, Primes (Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Bell Helicopter, etc) and CAPA (Corrective Action/Preventative Action) implementation. |
