UT Phased Array
PREREQUISITE: Registrants must satisfy all prerequisites that pertain to this training course.
This CGSB certification course provides the in-depth knowledge phased array ultrasonic testing, instrumentation, and common applications.
The course covers:
- Principles of phased array physics, probes and instrumentation
- Digitization and data views
- Focal law types, steering and focusing
- Encoded scanning on welds and corrosion
- Data interpretation and analysis
Course content is based on the menu structure and functionality of the Evident Omniscan X3 instrument. Students are required to bring their own flaw detector unit or rent a unit from CINDE for an additional cost of $1500 (CINDE has a limited supply of X3 instruments for rent). Students wishing to bring other instrument makes or models must contact the training center.
APPLICABLE STANDARDS: This course meets the training syllabus requirements of CAN/CGSB-48.9712, ISO 9712 and SNT-TC-1A.
